Volcán Paricutín, Uruapan

Owner speaks: English, Español

The Paricutín Volcano tour takes you to see the tourist viewpoint in the indigenous town of Angahuan where you can see this famous volcano face to face. From this viewpoint you will take a short walk to San Juan Viejo, a town that was totally buried as a result of the eruption of the Paricutín volcano in 1943 except for the towers and the altar of its temple. You can take photos of the place and right there you can taste the typical food of the region. The walk to the buried town is approximately 30 minutes downhill, however it is optional, whoever likes can stay at the viewpoint to take more photos or have a drink while the others return. Finally you will be able to walk through the Uruapan National Park where you will enjoy the beauty of its waterfalls, fountains and its peculiar spring known by the people of Uruapan as "the spring of the devil's knee". This walk through the park is also optional in case someone already feels tired. Our tour to the Paricutín Volcano is one of the favorites for tourists who like to discover natural phenomena. Enjoy your vacations in Morelia and don't forget to know all the tours we have for you and your companions.
